This handcrafted drop point knife blends rugged reclaimed steel with premium natural materials to create a blade that is both highly functional and visually unique. Each knife I produce is made completely by hand, ensuring that no two pieces are ever the same.
The blade is forged from a reclaimed American rasp file, a high-carbon steel known for its strength, durability, and excellent edge retention. Repurposing this steel not only gives the knife outstanding performance but also preserves the character and history of the original tool.
The handle features a striking combination of buckeye burl and green resin, creating a beautiful mix of natural wood grain and deep color. Buckeye burl is prized for its dramatic patterns, making every handle unique. Green liners add a subtle accent that ties the resin color into the overall design, while solid brass pins provide strength and a timeless finishing touch.
The knife comes with a handmade Herman Oak leather sheath, finished in rich black and built for vertical belt carry. Herman Oak leather is widely regarded as some of the finest vegetable-tanned leather produced in the United States, valued for its durability, strength, and the way it develops character and patina with age.
Every part of this knife—from grinding and heat treating the blade to shaping and fitting the handle—is completed by hand using only high-quality American-made materials. The result is a knife that is built to perform while also standing out as a one-of-a-kind collector’s piece.
Each knife is unique. Once it’s sold, it will never be duplicated.
